Sounds like some sort of cruel prank, like those birthday candles you can't blow out. What would be the point?

I bought some Charcoal at Piggly Wiggly, and I swear the stuff is fire resistant. I doused it in lighter fluid, and even on a breezy day I had to spend 45 minutes trying to light it aflame. I had to literally dissemble the still hot pyramid, rebuild it on a grate six inches above the bottom of the grill, and use wood+dangeresque amounts of lighter fluid to get the stuff to burn. -_-

Typos that are too hilarious to fix?

I haven't tried it yet. I've considered it, though, but the idea of being tempted to plunk down real cash for booster packs to improve my deck is keeping me away. At least when I was doing that with Magic: The Gathering, I had something tangible to hold on to....

That's why I temporarily stopped playing, but then I found out that you can get free packs. You can do quests to earn free packs or gold, which can be used to buy packs. I think you also get 10 gold for every 3 games you win (packs cost 100 gold), so you can get free packs as long as you can build a somewhat viable deck.

Being confused and then spending more money on something than you planned to?

I may have to look into it... when I have the time. That's always the catch, isn't it?

That's why it's important to fine-tune what I call the "BS meter." If someone - especially a salesperson - is trying to make things confusing or complex, then it's time to back away. They're trying to get something from you, and you should avoid playing their game. (Side note - I believe this is the main reason politicians present 1,000 page bills to the floor for a vote - they're so convoluted and confusing that they could mean whatever anyone wants them to mean. Anything could be in there! Frankly, I'm of the mindset that, if I were ever elected to a position, anything that heavy would automatically get a "no" vote from me - and if I ever had the ability, I'd issue a bill saying that any bill longer than 10 pages should be automatically vetoed. )

My "BS meter" is pretty fine tuned, but somehow Blizzard's website managed to confuse the heck out of me. I've been wanting to play World of Warcraft for a long time (like, a really long time) so I thought to myself, "might as well start now while school's light." So today I went to Walmart and paid $30 for a 60 day game card thinking that it would automatically upgrade my WoW account from Starter Edition to full. I get home, scratch off the silver stuff and punch in the code, only to find out that my account isn't "compatible" with this code, which translates to "give us $10 more for a full account so you can redeem this $30 card". So I ended up doing just that because I didn't really have any other choice.

Eclipses?

That makes sense, then. You can't play the full game until you actually own the full game.

So what did you roll?

I wouldn't say ridiculous. Myself, I don't play because of what I've heard - if I'm going to play an online game, I'd prefer to play one where the other players aren't a bunch of ***holes. Some people have such a reaction to peer pressure that they are probably intimidated by the stories of how that game - and LoL, for that matter - seems to attract the utter scum of the gaming side of the Internet. I'd say their fears are well-founded.

Personally, I love DOTA. Probably because it's the only MOBA I've played and I'm good with Chaos Knight.

For my main character I chose to be a Draenei Shaman. I leveled him some while I had a Starter edition account so He's lvl 15 right now. I also made an Orcish Warlock character for when I get bored of playing a Shaman. I tend to get bored of playing one character after a while.

Chess?

Did you know that each account has a limit of around 50 characters that you can make? ... yeah, I hit that back when I played.... I essentially had two "mains," one for each faction - a night elf druid and a troll rogue. And both were a blast to play. But I had a bunch of other characters that I played from time to time as well.

It can be entertaining. I had been teaching my daughter how to play, but it's been a while since we've done it. I may have to break out the board again....

So where could I get armor, weapons and spells? I'm still trying to figure these things out right now.

Today I joined the chess club at the community college where I take dual credit. I used to be good at chess, but it's been a while since I've played so I figured I could get better by joining the chess club.

It's been a while since I've played, but spells can be obtained by going to your home city. For your shaman, I can't remember where exactly it is, but there is a huge blue room with lots of crystals, and the trainers can be found around there. In Orgrimmar, I believe the warlock trainer is in the dark alley between two of the sections, and not too far from the entrance to an instance (that's where the rogue trainers are as well. ;) )

As for armor and weapons, I recommend checking the auction house, if you don't want to quest for them, or make them yourself. Quite often people leveling up their skills will dump their armors and weapons there at dirt-cheap prices.

Explosive! But also quite pretty, at times. Where I live, they set off the display a couple blocks from my house, so we get a front-row seat to the Fourth-of-July celebration without having to leave home. It's great!

I used to play both DOTA and LoL with the aim to get competition-level good, since that's one of the few game genre's that has translated into real-world competitions with success, and I figured sticking my fingers into that pie would also validate me as a pro-gamer.

But I stopped playing for reasons, and now that I aim to start it up again, I find myself curiously reticent for the very reasons you've mentioned. I know a loss, even with bots, will bring down all manner and flavor of poopoo upon both my head and face. O_o And thus after a two day 13 GB download, the game has down little but take up bit space. XD
