Little Big Planet 2 : Special Edition
Kingdoms of Amalur : Reckoning

Cave story.

Never finished it. Want to rectify that. Pretty amazing game. Plus, I just learned that the machine gun can be used as a jet pack of sorts, which makes the game a boatlourd easier.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

I went into a room and thought I heard a monster coming, so I closed the door behind me. I turned around... to find the monster was IN the room, 2 feet away from me. O_o
Biggest jump scare ever. :P

I've always wanted to try that game, but at the same time, I dislike dampened pants.

I was always a fan of horror games, especially the second Silent Hill.

But the second Penumbra game made me literally run out of my room in fear.

I wish I was joking.

I can't see myself playing Amnesia, or any other game developed by Frictional Games, unless I want a heart attack.

Dear sweet monkey fudge...those games make Resident Evil look like Animal Crossing. I beat the first one and walked away from the series scarred. The demo for the second one actually still sends chills of fear down my spine. O_o I've had nightmares about those games before. XD

Cave Story.

Few games recently have had me so tense with focus. The last levels are incredihard. I've tensed up because I was watching closely to make sure I did not die, I've tensed because an ugly creature jumped at me, but it's been awhile since I've tensed because of the difficulty level. XD

Me, my brother and my friend were playing the first one all in the same room. It horrified us, but
Spoiler:
we ended up disapointed when we realized the only enemies in the game are stupid dogs, and occasionally a worm.

Still, I think the fear is more psychological than anything. You THINK something scary will come at you, but it usually doesn't happen until you least expect it.

Let's just say that Black Plague makes the first Penumbra look like Resident Evil and the first Penumbra makes Resident Evil look like Animal Crossing.

Not sure about Amnesia, though. Frankly, I don't want to know.

Don't forget the spiders. And I was all alone the whole time I played the game. XD

But yeah, that was actually one of the more impressive things about Overture to me. I spent the entire time with fear of something building in my head, and only realized how rare that was after I beat the game. In the RE series, you know what you're afraid of, since it usually jumps at you every 5 minutes. In Penumbra, it's a nameless fear haunting your every step. It was rather a masterful accomplishment in that sense, but I'm not actually sure I liked the feeling. I mean, even after I got a good supply of dynamite and the pickaxe and the dogs were no problem, the nameless fear still made the game terrifying at every new door. Hated the ending though. That was actually what made me sell the game.

But I think I know what you're referring to in Black Plague. I actually owned it, and there was a reason I stopped playing after the first hour or so. XD Being unable to look at your enemy while hiding from them...urfle. Not to mention them critters are darn terrifying.

Pretty amazing games in one way. I still despise them though. >.>
Aaaaaah maaan...now I have those games in my head again. XD I worked hard to make them didn't happen.

yeah... I just played about 6 hours of the first Penumbra before getting stuck on one of the puzzles, iirc. But I'm generally finding Amnesia to be much more disturbing, in more than a few ways. O_o

Speaking of which, I last played some more Amnesia. got to the torture chambers... Time to take a break, I think, if only to preserve my mental acuity. :P I need my apprehension of what horrors lay ahead to be outweighed by my desire to find out what exactly is going on. That's part of what I'm loving about the game, how it's leaving so many of the horror elements unexplained... reminds me of Condemned: Criminal Origins, except in Amnesia it's kind of slowly unfolding through the letters you find throughout the game.
