lulz, yeah. I want FFXIII more than... anything. Or at least, any game. >_>

It is fun. o.o

Should we wrestle hatred to it's knees?
I know exactly what you mean by being "excited". When I went for my first snake, I could hardly speak. I was so hyped.

Sure, we could do that... or we could just let the boa kill hatred. <_<
Deepfreeze32 wrote:ohno told me that Korn has no redeeming value and that their music sucks and the lyrics make him want to kill a turtle.

Is that just him being biased against metal again, or is there something wrong with him?
Um... I dunno. Everyone's got different tastes, especially with music. That's such a personal subject for many I don't even try to debate it any more.

Korn's lyrics probably do suck. I don't know for sure, considering I rarely tune in to the words of music (I just... don't care what the artist is trying to say. I just don't, sorry XD), but from what I've read/been told they're... evil. o.o

As to their music though... I do like it a lot. Korn is a fun band musically, though they do get... boring... after a while. Like Metallica, they don't seem to stray away from their original "sound". Ya know what I mean?

As to ohno having something wrong with him... :o

Fewer have been the hypocrites have met than salad without dressing.

I don't know if you get that...but it's a pretty high complement. XD

That guy still has the candy cane...I'm hopeful. :D

What made you first want a snake?

I don't get that, but it sounds awesome. And possibly siggy worthy, if ya don't mind. <_<

Awesome that he's still got the candy cane. Just go asap, and you'll get it.

Aaaaaaaaand. I don't know what made me want one.

I have been into snakes/reptiles all mah life (catching anything I could find outside), and I had always wanted one of my own that wasn't wild-caught. Then... when I was about 11 or 12... I got my first ball python. I had originally set out to buy a corn, but the people at petco (this was before I knew much of anything about them) wouldn't sell it to me. They said I was too young, and wouldn't be able to take care of it. Freaking hypocrites, they've got no right to lecture someone on the care of animals. -_-

Anyway, I then went to a small mom 'an pop pet store and they had a bunch of ball pythons... and I ended up getting one of those. Loved that guy, had him for a few years. I did end up giving him away though, because at the time... money was so scarce for me/us that I couldn't keep him. :(

Great snake though, wish I still had him. *sadface*

Now I'm all depressed.

<_<

notrly

So yeah, when you get your first snake... keep him. Even if you have to steal micez for him (kidding... of course). But yeah.

There is no feeling like that which you get upon buying your first snake.

Um.

How should I answer this.... (<_<)

XD

Nah, it's really a good fighter. It's fast, faster than say Tekken or Virtua Fighter but no where near as much of a button masher as the Soul Calibur series. It's also complicated... as in, you have to learn a fighter to kick butt.

The final boss (Alpha 152) is probably one of the cheapest bosses... well, ever. It's nasty, and that's just playing on normal.

Nice. Is it one of those where you have to memorize long combos?

Hey, I'd hitchhike to get the snake Friday. XD But stuff isn't here yet. Ordered it on Sunday. It should get here Friday. However, a Fedex truck was blown up earlier today, and I have a sinking feeling it was on that. XD

For the record, the driver walked away without an injury, and the guy on the exploding bike got a broken arm. So I am not a jerk. :D

Yay for explosions?

Yeah, it can be. Some of the combos are... very... long. o.O

That fails man. He deliver it the next day?

Not bad. Ate a lot... and also took a ton of pics of my snakes. Which will be up in Hang Out shortly.

Those pics rock hard. \m/.

And yes, the stuff got here today. XD I'm hyped. My Dad had to stop by Wal-Mart anyway, so he got an aquarium while he was out. I'm hopefully going to get my snake Monday. I'm fiddling with the temp now. I may just use the infrared bulb. It's lower wattage, and when I turned on the UTH (through the thermostat) and the light, the light ramped it up to 95 degrees. O_O

So the light is off now...I'm keep fiddling with it until I can get it to at least 83-85. I may plug the light in to the thermostat too. It'd click on and off, but if I'm using the red bulb, I don't think that'd matter as much.

How many sheets of newspaper do you use? I've got like 7 down now.

Ah, sweet. I hope you get him soon. I can't wait.

You'll love him, dude. I mean, my corn is precious to me. I consider the boa my "favorite" snake (boas/pythons have always been my favs, I just love the big snakes), but dang. There's nothing like that little corn snake who is always exploring the world around him. XD

And yeah, that's hot if that's throughout the cage. It's a ten gallon, right? Yeah... those are the hardest to allow the snake to thermoregulate. A lamp just heats it up so quickly, and by then a heat mat is too much.

Also, yeah. Don't worry about the bulb turning on and off if it's one of the red, purple, black or blue ones. They're invisible to the snake's eyes.

What's your room temp normally, btw?

Aaand, I normally use two for a ten gallon. There's really no such thing as too much, but I don't always have it available (and have to juggle what I've got between 3-4 cages, and one of them huge now).

7 is fine. Probably a lot. But that just gives the snake layers to burrow into (which corns LOVE to do). XD

I've tinkered with the heat a bit and have it much better. The lamp I was using before was the basking bulb, which is probably why it got so hot, I'm thinking. I switched over to the red bulb, and it balances out at about 80-85. the part I'm still fussing with is the mat. I've got the hot side hide at about 80. I say about, because the thermostat brings it up and down. 70-85 is what I've got it at now. Combined with the bulb, it ranges about 80.

Also, I took some of the paper out. By the time the mat heated through the seven sheets, the bulb had already made the thermostat switch off. :D It's better now. I'm having trouble telling by feel how hot it is because I'm on some med's that raise my body temperature. XD So at the moment I'm relying on the thermometer, which is telling me that the interior of the hide ranges from 75-85.

My room temp ranges around. Probably somewhere in the seventies. Higher in the day, lower at night.

Would putting a small pile of aspen or shredded paper be something the corn would enjoy burrowing in?

You are on at an unusual hour? o.O

And glad things are working better. I know how it is at times, it can be a pain to get the heating just right. XD

I am now trying to heat my boa's new cage, and man... that's hard. I can't really put a heat mat on it, because that might... burn down the house. And the lamp is three feet up from where the boa is, and that's a ways for a little 75 watt bulb to heat. (I need about a 150, preferably a CHE... but I'z broke at the moment)

So yes, I know heating can be a pain at times. o.o

Aaaaaand. Which thermo did you end up getting? If it's the digital one with the probe, you could always place the probe directly on the heat mat for a bit to see how hot it is.

Generally, or I should say supposedly... heat mats are designed to heat up 20 degrees hotter than the room temp. Though I'm now being told the Zoo Med heat mats are like... the worst ones out there, because they get too hot. I dunno, I've got them on all my cages and like them for the most part... but now that I think of it, they do have issues with getting too hot.

However, you've got the 5 gal heater on your cage, right? If so that's great, cuz it's a lot easier to work with a cage with a mat one size lower. XD

But yeah. If you absolutely can't get the mat right on the temp you want it, you can always stick with a lamp and heat the cage to around 86-87, because... honestly, out of all my snakes, the corn uses his mat the least. The king used it when I had it on (but I explained that situation), the boa was always on its heat mat (they take... higher requirements than a corn), but the corn... man, that lil guy is so hardcore. He'll be over in the cold side of the cage in-between the glass and the water dish, even on "cold" days. XD

I guess all I'm trying to say is... if everything is "perfect" right off, don't worry. A corn snake is probably the most hardy snake you can buy. XD

Aaaand, yesh. He would probably use it. In the past when I've had aspen in my corn's cage, they have loved it... burrowing like crazy. (boa just curls up like normal in her hide and sleeps -_-)

So a little pile, if you don't want to fill the whole cage (which I completely get, as that stuff is expensive.. and is why I don't do it XD), he would like, me thinks. ^_O

Also, when you said your thermo is reading 75-85... is that 75 on the cool end and 85 on the hot end? Stupid question I know, but I just want to make sure it's not fluctuating that much throughout the entire cage. XD

Yeah. Medication+Black Friday exhaustion= me collapsing from tiredness early at night and waking up earlier. :D I kinda liked it. Don't need to eat breakfast again, though. Ooh...

Also, the reading was fluctuating like that on the hot end. O_O Which is why I worked a lamp in. At the moment, the hot end stays at 79-83 constantly. It's actually the thermostats fault, as it brings the mat up to a certain heat level, then drops it to a certain level, ETC. to keep it a "standard" temp. Works like an oven/central heating. XD I pulled the bulb off that, and placed it in a normal outlet to make sure it doesn't get too cold or go up and down too much.

I'd like to bring that up a few degrees still...how hot is too hot? I ended up getting a cobra mat instead of Zoo med, and according to the packaging/website it's built to operate at a steady 100.

Also, that's using the digi thermo. I ended up getting the one you recommended. And the heat mat did hit 99 before I plugged it into the thermostat and lowered it down.
