KOEI TECMO Announces ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8 REMAKE: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle!

Trailer and 40th Anniversary Website Released in Anticipation of Jan. 29, 2026 Launch

BURLINGAME, Calif. – Oct. 10, 2025 – Today, KOEI TECMO America and developer Kou Shibusawa announced that in honor of the ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS series’ 40th anniversary, they will be releasing ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8 REMAKE: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle. This title is a bundle of ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8, the first large-scale remake in the ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS series, and the “Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack,” adding many new elements to the tactical simulation. The new bundle will be available Jan. 29, 2026 digitally on Windows PC via Steam®.

ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8 REMAKE: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle includes a host of newly added features to help broaden the Three Kingdoms experience including “Gems,” “Turning Point,” and new scenarios. Rulers, viceroys, governors, tacticians, common officers, chieftains and free officers – each have various commands they can obtain, and “Gems” can change with each play to enjoy different ways of character growth. Meanwhile, the “Turning Points” allow for a complete change in a stalemate of each force’s situation, depending on the “opportunities” that can increase according to the passage of time, disasters and state of affairs. Additionally, with new “traits,” new events, Parliament and City commands, 5 additional fictional scenarios, enhancement of in-game editing, Chinese voices, and more, players can have a unique and limitless Three Kingdoms experience.

Everyone who purchases a digital edition of ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8 REMAKE: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle up to the first two weeks after release will receive the “Loyal Han Retainer Ma Teng” scenario as an early purchase bonus. Those who pre-order the game will also receive the “Guan Yu Advances” scenario as a pre-order bonus.
