Free Update Coming to Across the Obelisk on September 22 – New Hero Available in October

STOCKHOLM – September 18th, 2025 – Paradox Interactive and Dreamsite Games today announced two free updates for their co-op deckbuilding roguelite Across the Obelisk. The first update, Threads of Dreams, introduces a new map and will launch on September 22, 2025. The second update, arriving in October, will add a brand-new playable hero. Both updates will be available on Steam for PC.

Threads of Dreams invites players to explore a realm caught between memory and myth. A perfect and curious detour for those drawn to stories left untold. In Threads of Dreams, players will step into a surreal new region where memories bend the world around you. Each path twists with dream logic. Events shimmer with uncertainty. And reality? That’s always been a suggestion.

To celebrate the launch, the Across the Obelisk base game will be discounted by up to 50% on Steam for a limited time.
The free Threads of Dreams update expands Across the Obelisk with:

A compact new map with its own dreamlike atmosphere
Unique narrative events and fresh rewards
Designed to drop into any run, no prep needed
Master 2 new combat mechanics:
Sleep — causes units to skip turns and doubles incoming debuffs.
Illusion — exact copies of units that mimic stats and abilities, but can be revealed and take bonus damage.

New Hero – Coming in October
In October, a new hero will become available for free, offering fresh gameplay and deck-building possibilities.
