Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate – Kaho Shibuya DLC Coming Soon!

Magical girl mayhem, bread-powered beatdowns, and a brand-new Los Angeles stage are coming to PBBGU.

Los Angeles, California - July 1, 2025 - Rocket Panda Games is thrilled to announce a brand-new DLC for Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU), featuring none other than real-life Japanese pop culture personality and cosplayer Kaho Shibuya as a playable character! This action-packed DLC is coming soon to PC and consoles.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate | KAHO DLC Announcement

A daughter of a humble baker by day and a magical girl by destiny, Kaho’s bread-fueled justice comes to life with a freshly-baked moveset that’s as charming as it is chaotic. Whether flinging baguette blasts or unleashing croissant combos, she’s ready to roll… and rise.

Here is a message from Kaho Shibuya herself on being a part of PBBGU:

"My favorite game genre has always been 2D side-scrolling Beat 'em Ups, so to be in such a game as a menacingly strong DLC character is a dream come true. This playable Kaho is an amalgamation of a magical girl and a baker, prismatic and sweet. Regarding the former, of course it's every girl's fantasy, especially when you grew up watching anime like Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, and Madoka Magica. For the latter, I wanted a unique weapon to stand out, and thought of a baguette as a weapon first, which was inspired from some of my favorite games. This character is from all my nerdy thoughts, and I hope you enjoy beating up enemies with it."

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Los Angeles, California the DLC package includes:

One new playable character Kaho Shibuya, a magical girl with the powers of cuteness and bread, available to use on Co-op and Battlegrounds Mode.
Four new enemy mob characters to battle through on the new stage.
A brand-new stage set in a fictional “LA”, dressed up for Anime Expo season available on Co-op Mode.
In-stage Collaboration Camoes with LA local food truck, Okamoto Kitchen and 3D latte art shop from Japan, Latte Pocket.

To commemorate the launch, Japanese girl band, Phantom Breakers will release an original track titled “WISH” feat. Kaho Shibuya, featuring vocals by Kaho herself. The single will be released in conjunction with the DLC release on all major streaming platforms.

To celebrate the announcement, Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate will soon be on sale for the first time ever across all digital storefronts. The Kaho Shibuya DLC is coming soon to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

The Phantom Breaker series started out as a 2D fighting game in 2011, developed by 5pb / MAGES, and the beat-'em-up spin-off “Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds” was published in 2013 by 5pb / MAGES.
