I found another no swear mod for GTA 5. It's a no swear mod. The guy who made it, J.S. 2000, has only made edits for Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. I've not played any of the GTA games so I don't know how much you'll see/intereract with them. The creator also said he might try to make more edits, but he's taking a break for now as he's listened to about 10,000 audio files thus far. The mod was released in May 2016 so perhaps he might be getting around to doing more edits. You could reach out to him on the to find out if you'd like. Here's the mod link:

here's J.S. 2000's profile if you want to reach out to him to thank him for his efforts or let him know you'd love more edits:

I found another handful of mods. These ones are modesty mods for Dragon Age Origins. I haven't played the game.

Can someone chime in to let us all know if there are other characters that would need edits/modding?

I haven't played the game so I don't know. It was recently released on gog (https://www.gog.com/game/dragon_age_origins) so it caught my eye and I picked it up. It will be a long time before I get around to playing this one. It's also available on Steam and Origin too.

If you'd like there's a no blood mod mentioned elsewhere in this thread. Here's the link so you don't have to search for it:

General_Redfox wrote:Yes, there is. It has no blood options. The nice thing is that neither game require any mods. It's done through simple console commands.

run the game. go into options enable able the console. press the "`". It's left of the number 1 on your keyboard. Then you type in these commands:

violence_hblood 0
violence_hgibs 0
violence_ablood 0
violence_agibs 0

The console will automatically start pulling up commands based on what you're typing. You can click them or use tab to move through the options.

This disables the blood. This works for the original half life and half life 2. You'll have to do it every time you launch the game or you can go into the game and go to the launch properties. (right click the game in steam and go to properties->general tab->launch options) Put those command in there with a space in between each of them.
thanks man but what about the cussing?
You're in luck. I've started working on a no swear mod for Half Life 2. I can't say when it would be finished, but It's on my docket. I'm still mostly working on Fallout 3.

Hey General_Redfox, thank you so much for all of your work! I've been looking for quite some time, and it's really great to finally find someone working on no-blood and language mods. :)

From the forum posts I'm reading, it sounds like you've got quite a bit on your plate, but I had a question - I don't know if you've played Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but would you consider making a language mod for it? I love the game, but I stopped playing it due to the excessive language. The game does stealth fantastically well; I just wish there wasn't so much swearing.

Thanks again!

I appreciate the thank you. I wish I could make a mod for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I really enjoyed the first game. It had great support for mods. I've had a look at Human Revolution a few years ago. It seemed like there were some tools available, but they were broken in a game patch that happened after the tools were released, but i never heard whether the tool developer updated them to work with the current game version. I really don't know if it is possible or not.

Here's some info I've found in my searches if it helps. Perhaps it may inspire you to see what you can find.

Gibbed tool: (For packing and unpacking assets)
http://www.moddb.com/games/deus-ex-3/do ... x-hr-tools (it might be outdated. I'm not sure because I don't own Human Revolution so I wouldn't be able to check to see if anything could be done with it.

Forum thread on XeNTaX modding website about upacking and packing. There's a lot of information in it:
http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7208

Forum thread on Edios game forum. They talk about how to extract a little bit.
http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=128926

Like I said, I wish I could make a no swear mod for it. The first game was very interesting, but I haven't been able to find out if it's possible or not. I can't commit to trying to make anything. Sorry. There are mods that have been made. I've just never seen anything done other than menu/lighting/debugging sort of stuff. I've not seen any dialog/voice over or texture mods.

If you find anything in your searching or attempts post it here. I too would be very interested to hear fresh news about the possibility of a no swear mod.

Usually extracting assets out of a game can be done. Getting them back in is the tricky part. Some games are build with modding in mind so you'd drop modded assets into a folder. Then game would read the modded assets and then load whatever is left over. This is how Skyrim, Fallout 3, the Stalker series, and others work. Other games you have to do it in other ways. I'm not sure about how it would work in Human Revolution.

It's easy enough editing the subtitles of HR (extract the bigfiles and hex edit the language bin file), the audio is the hard part.... I truly despise fsb. For the DC you can use the "debug" mod to load others, it probably works fine for the original too. I had the motivation to do it for a short while but the game itself is just too square enix (if that makes sense) so I got rid of it. The first is better anyway and has no mini-games.

rambo919, is it possible to get the audio back into the game in the current version?

I've not worked with hex editors much at all. Do you know of some good starting resources to understand how to do it? (tutorials, videos, forums, etc)

What tools can you use with fsb? I'm assuming it's the archive type that holds audio for Deus Ex HR? -or is it the audio file type for the game?

Are there any modding project you're working on right now? I know you've got a lot of them you've done over on moddb.com

I have had success editing the the language bin file and getting that back in. Using gibbed's tools you extract the bigfiles, find the files you want to edit and preserving the folder structure repack only the edited files. Then using the DEBUG mod/tool/thing just drop it into it's mods folder I think it uses and viola. Fsb is tricky, you have for first use a fsb extractor to get something editable and then make a fsb out of the edited file with fmod... I have yet to actually properly manage that, might be doing something small wrong.

When hex editing something with language strings you CAN actually see the real text most of the time, the important thing to remember is you have to replace characters with something to keep the filesize exactly the same as the original file. For DXHR you can edit the strings and mute the vocals ingame, not the best for such an atmospheric game talking-wise but it works. The best way to test if you are doing it right is to edit the main menu text.

I am currently motivating myself to actually patch my FO3 mod (which can be easily used in conjunction with lance's one btw.... he misses things). Looking at also doing mods for other games, have whiddled down a list of doable one's. Honestly though half the time I'm not tired I'm lazy, something I am trying to address.

Have this crazy idea of satirically secularizing the Civilization series's religious building to get rid of the discomfort of building heathen idols/temples/etc... but that's much further down the line and again.... lazy.

I would hold off updating your FO3 mod. I am very close to being done with a full no swear mod. That would allow you to work on other projects. I'm am done with all the dialog and am finishing editing text on the computer terminals and should be done by the end of the week with those. Would you be willing to help me out by doing a play through for me? I could drop box the mod to you. It wouldn't be ready for at least two or three weeks.

Yeah, Lance misses things. It's a flaw in his method. He plays and makes edits when he finds someone who swears, but doing things that way gives no measurable progress, missed dialog options. He'd never know when he's entirely done, it would require multiple play-throughs, and eventually he'd probably hit burnout and just declare the project done. My method has been exporting all dialog and doing a text search, then making edits in the audio, subtitles and lip syncing. (I'm not knocking his work though. His mod as the reason I purchased FO3 in the first place. I never would have bought it otherwise). I tried his mod and found it didn't get everything so i decided to work on on other mods till I figured out how to use the GECK. Once I sorted out how to use it then I started the long journey to make all the necessary edits.

Any change of making texture edits for Deus Ex HR? I know as I've watched gameplay there are some characters that could use dressing up. There's also some cursing on some graffiti. I'm really considering picking it up so I can one day try to do modding on it, but if I couldn't do texture edits, it would be a waste of money for me.

Nah since I only focus on blasphemy and there is only a few things left I can easily finish it, will do that next weekend probably. My main problem is procrastination leaving me with a large buildup of potential mods, especially now that I have this new OCD crusade of making all 5 pointed stars in games 4 pointed one's.... I'm like the kid in the candystore running from rack to rack just tasting stuff :/

Sorry but I have actually recently actually played through most of FO3 I have kinda reached burnout on that, I could holdoff and playtest the DLC though if you have managed to do that too.

I have no Idea how to do texture edits for HR and honestly it's not really a game you should spend time on trying to redeem. Personal opinion.

I've not worked on the DLC's just yet for FO3. I'm finishing the base game and doing a bit of testing before moving onto the DLCs. I'd image they'll be much quicker than the base game.

What is nice with the dlc's is their topics usually start with "dlc" so its easy to differentiate from the main game when you do a text search. And yes it's much less work.

Hey everyone,

Crysis and Crysis Warhead are now DRM free on gog.com! This to me is a big deal because Crysis Warhead had SecuROM DRM, which has a limited number of activations on any other version besides the gog version. (retail disk, Steam, or Origin). You can get back a single activation using a tool, but it's a hastle and the game sometimes has issues activating after an install because it can't reach the activation servers.

I've made no swear mods for both games if you've never tried them and would be interested to have a swear free experience.

Crysis: https://www.gog.com/game/crysis
Crysis No Swear Mod: http://www.moddb.com/games/crysis/addon ... -swear-mod

Crysis Warhead: https://www.gog.com/game/crysiswarhead
Crysis Warhead No Swear Mod: http://www.moddb.com/games/crysis-warhe ... -swear-mod

Other news: I'm still working on my Fallout 3 No Swear Mod. It's almost done. I've done the base game and 2 of the 5 DLCs. The last 3 DLCs are much more story based so it's taking a bit longer.
