It should come as little surprise to anyone that I love and still enjoy the Avernum games. But enough about more modern games, how about dusty old relics from when I was just a wee one?
Like Mail Order Monsters. Design your own monster and have it battle another one. I played this silly thing for hours on end, and haven't found anything quite like it since.
Underrated gems that you loved.

Red Steel.
Plain and simple, that game was hated for no real reason. I loved the atmosphere, and the rather edgy vengeful bent of the story. All kinds of awesome.
Battle for Wesnoth.
Few people I meet have played this excellent strategy game. Could be I've met the wrong people, but still.
Top Gun.
Weird Gamecube game. It felt like a title trying to catch some of the more famous Jet games' afterburners. Still, I enjoyed flying around and doing all manner of crazy stunts with the planes, not related to the mission. XD

(I never did actually beat it... yet. >_<)
Never the less, I really liked it.
Oh, and now I been reminded that they made a new game for the Wii.
(I am going to have to get that game some time.)

Tron: Evolution (PS3). This game is super underrated. Has awesome multiplayer, too.

I enjoyed Too Human, as flawed as it was. It had a certain level of character that few can appreciate. But what kept me from continuing it, was the fact that they stopped developement of the franchise. Another game I enjoyed was Final Fantasy 9, even if it had the worst game guide in the world.

Not a good game, not a long game, but parkour can be such an interesting mechanic.
Mirror's Edge is better though.

This game got E3 awards. Still underrated.

Man, I remember Final Fantasy 9.
though I admit I actually didn't get far at all,
mainly due to an really old PS1 card having memory errors.
Though I now do have access to a another PS1 card,
I'll have to try it out.

Spectrobes: Origins is also an awesome game. Why it didn't get a special appearance in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance I have no idea (you actually have to play both games like I have to understand). Imagine this game on the Wii U. Just do it.

Super Mario Bros. 3...why r dere so many haterz of dis masterpeace?
I got pretty far, and with the help of my mini-gameshark memory card thingamabob, I finished it. I loved that game so much, because it felt as though it took final fantasy to a period that was all but forgotten.JOJ650s wrote:Man, I remember Final Fantasy 9.
