Nice. :)

I was thinking about a TOP (NUMBER TO BE DETERMINED LATER) of Characters that need a break.

You might want to clarify which list that should go into... or we might just have a lynching.

Sonic is on the list of characters that need a break. So is Mario.

Look right now its just an idea for a column. Nothing fleshed out, and nothing finalized.

I get ideas, and I write them down. If/when I have time I flesh them out. Sometimes they change into something else. Sometimes they sit for months or years before being addressed. Sometimes they get deleted.

Probably out of retirement. There hasn't been a Chrono game since the PS1.

But I was like o_O when I originally read it too.

Meh, predictable. :P

Though, kind of like ccgr said about Paper Mario...I think a case could be made for Modern Sonic to be retired.

That being said, I think Half Life should go in the retired list.

Overall, I'm not really sure there's really a point in making a retired list...I think the important thing is that the developers make good games for the series and if they don't? Then those respective franchises need to be retooled and put in a different direction (even if they have to go back to basics). This has happened to Sonic twice now. And the result was Sonic Adventure and Generations, both of which received generally favorable reviews in their time.

:| Why? The last game ended on a cliffhanger and there are a lot of questions that need answers.

And oh yeah, I think Commander Keen should really be on "come out of retirement" list!

Because a series that hasn't had a true sequel in 6 six years needs to just give it a rest already.

uhm.. It's already resting, and like I said before, there are a lot of questions that need answers. If anything, it should come out of retirement.

I hope I won't die from old age before that happens.
