I want this so bad.
I have the money, but is it worth plunking down the cash?
I want this.

There's been a lot of buzz around the playstation 3 lately. It has been blown wide open hack wise so you can now custom firmware to play emulators and home brew on it. We use ours more for blu rays than games but it's a great system.

^Target had that deal too, but I guess they're out now.
Thank you for that. I wouldn't have been able to find anything better.
I did it. Now tell me I made the right decision or I might have a panic attack. lol

The PS3 pretty much dominates my non-portable gaming time these days, and it's been that way since I bought it nearly 3 years ago. So yeah, I think you got a good deal.

It's just funny because this is my first gaming console since the PS1. I've never been a super huge gamer but I've eyed from afar the system and drooled over various titles.
Now that I'm actually getting it...any game recommendations? I have a decently long wish list, but I'm open for suggestions. I'm not a super huge fan of FPSes.. I like action games/brawlers/sports... more of the arcade variety, but again, open to any suggestions. My brother is heavily pushing Mass Effect, so we'll see about that.

I don't even think it would be possible to list all of the titles I want to recommend. How about just LittleBigPlanet, Twisted Metal, Yakuza 4, PAYDAY: The Heist, SOCOM 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, ModNation Racers, God of War Saga, all of the Ratchet and Clank games, and of course the Resistance trilogy—this is getting out of hand...

Just get Yakuza 3 and 4 (I highly recommend the Yakuza series, and at least the third one has extensive recaps of the first two games), Mass Effect Trilogy, GTA4: The Complete Collection (how could any "must play" list be complete without GTA4?!), Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, MGS4, Ico/Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted 2 and 3 (skip the first; it kind of isn't good), Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3 and honestly any multiplatform game of note.

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

I own no PS3, but get the Ratchet and Clank collection and the Sly collection thingums. Those games rock my world.

How could I forget Shadow of the Colossus? I absolutely agree; it's worth experiencing.Drewsov wrote:Ico/Shadow of the Colossus

Just think it over, wait a little, and decide whether or not you can afford it.
