The Bible says this: Genesis 6:3
Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."

scientists think it's a fixed genetic trait

Interesting. I can say that I wasn't familiar with the verse that you mentioned. Interesting commentary of Genesis 6:3 below.

I'm curious as to how that applied to the extremely long lifespans of the original humans. Like Adam lived to be around 900, Noah lived to around 400, etc.
