have you seen or heard about Primer

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primer_%28film%29

The trailer doesn't really communicate the nature of the film, which consists largely of wildly complicated and supposedly accurate science jargon that I can't even hope to understand, but the complexity of the plot and dialogue somehow stuns and mesmerizes enough to keep you wrapped up in the entire proceedings. Basically it's about these scientists working on side projects, and as they're working on something related to lessening the weight of objects, they accidentally discover time travel. This guy that made it, Shane Carruth, he's a freaking scientific and mathematical genius and he somehow branched from that into writing, directing, producing and starring in his films. He's entirely unconventional and saddles his ideas in these bizarre and fascinating scientific theories that don't make any sense to the common man (or maybe even anybody) but are somehow all the better for it

He has this other film that came out at Sundance called Upstream Color and it sounds even more ridiculous and amazing

"Kris is derailed from her life when she is drugged by a small-time thief. But something bigger is going on. She is unknowingly drawn into the life cycle of a presence that permeates the microscopic world, moving to nematodes, plant life, livestock, and back again. Along the way, she finds another being—a familiar, who is equally consumed by the larger force. The two search urgently for a place of safety within each other as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of their wrecked lives."

I have no idea what that even vaguely means but it looks incredible and I'm very excited for it

EDIT: This article breaks things down a bit better

I have heard of Primer, but I have not seen it. Looks like on your recommendation, I might have to. You piqued my interest, for Primer and Upstream Color. I'll get back to you after I watch either of them.
