What Have I Done? - A Poem

What Have I Done?
By Servant of the King
I love the Lord with all my being,
I could not bear to forgo seeing
The vast supremacy of God;
None other merits greater laud.
He sits enthroned in truth and love.
Our thoughts are low; His are above!
To God the Father, Spirit, Son,
No one can say “What has He done?”
God loves us more than all of space,
And yet a void engulfs our race.
We think we know what sates our souls,
But only He can fill those holes.
I cannot keep Him to myself!
My friends, their Bibles on a shelf,
Are wasting precious moments here
On Earth's enticing, fleeting sphere.
They covet videos and games.
Each one, with clear conviction claims
That Yahweh has been long deceased.
On lies they live; on sin they feast.
Doubtlessly the works of man
Cannot compare with Jesus' plan.
The game of Minecraft never could
Fulfill—O, that they understood!
I ought to purchase it and see
If it is all it claims to be.
But could I stand its tempting power?
I should be fine for just one hour...
A week into this wond'rous game,
I am a man of great acclaim!
And yet I failed to read God's Word;
To play is what I have preferred.
Looking back through wisdom's lens,
I see I'm now just like my friends.
I've lost my passion for the Son!
O Lord my God, what have I done?
By Servant of the King
I love the Lord with all my being,
