Truth - A Poem

Truth
By Servant of the King

People are dying
Every day,
And many were never
Aware they could pray
To the One who had made them,
The One who has died
So that they wouldn't have to,
But the evil one lied:
“Who needs a Messiah
When I'm here to provide
Every want, every pleasure
To stoke up your pride?
You know that you want them.
All you need is to say
That this 'God' is a farce,
And you walk your own way!”
He twisted their hearts
To think they were great,
Until they were gone
And it was too late.
Each minute, one hundred
And twenty expire.
The time is too short
And conditions are dire.
The truth must be told!
Our LORD is not dead!
It's true that He suffered
'Til he bowed His head,
But no grave could hold Him;
Death had to give in,
For Jesus had crushed it,
And with it, our sin!
We don't have to perish!
Our debt has been paid!

But how many are lost now
Because we've delayed?

Desires and fear
Of how well we are groomed
Has hidden the truth from
Those who now are doomed.
Words just aren't enough.
We must start to act;
Spreading truth from the Gospel
To souls that are cracked!
Wake up, sleeping Christians,
It's time to arise!
They must turn away from
The father of lies!

Awesome poem. It's very true, as well. I live in Vermont, which is a really secular state, and I can't help but look around some times and just think, "These people are dying, and I'm doing nothing to help them." I also really like the call to service at the end. Very inspiring :)
