Apparently, an MMO based in a world inspired by the works of Jane Austen has been successfully funded by Kickstarter. It's called "Ever, Jane" and there seems to be heavy emphasis on roleplaying.

...

Personally, I think it sounds a little dull, but then again, I've always found Austen's works to be a bit dry for my tastes. I'm curious to know how others who are fans of Austen's works (such as my wife) may regard this game. In any case, it's an interesting change to the typical "grind for monsters, get levels, go on raids" approach that so many MMOs have taken nowadays.

In any case, you can find details about Ever, Jane right here.

I'd like to see this done with a more...meaningful book, but little as I like Jane Austen I think the idea itself is solid. Except for the inevitable cries of racism and sexism.

I'm actually of the entirely opposite opinion. The books are great, but the concept looks like an entirely dull tirade devoid of anything meaningful from her works.
