Yeah no kidding, Little Big Planet 2 is roughly the same way. It is essentially why I don't often play alongside other people. I haven't had luck with people when it comes to any form of online gaming, because people either lack the experience, or they simply aren't willing. But not everyone is like that ofcourse, which is why from time to time I do team up with other people.
