My kids love the N64 version. We have the Wii version too. I don't play these games though. It's fun to watch them swallow each other as Yoshi's though.

I think Brawl is the best, simply because it refines so much of what made the series great. Granted some characters and their final smashes are cheap to the point of brokenness. (Sonic I'm looking at you)

The series rocks, I just wish the first had been less buggy. Seriously, so many glitches in that game. XD

Mario = worst super smash ever.

I personally enjoyed the first one the best. It was a good ol' fashioned fighter, while I thought the others to have too many bells and whistles, and to be too flashy. Brawl is still one of my favourite games though.

Melee and the first are my pudding.

Brawl...I didn't get. It was OK, but not as good as Melee to me.

Good series...so much time into it, so much booty kick with Roy.

Melee. I never played the first one enough and... well, Brawl... I don't know, I still play it but it feels like everyone moves so much slower for some reason

Brawl is slower, for sure. I still think I'd call it my fav though due to the huge number of characters in it.

Our family got it for Christmas, and we put 120 hours into it in the first nine days.

...

Anyway, my favorite characters would have to be Fox (who has and always will be my all time favorite. I mean, it's Starfox), Zelda (probably my best in Brawl... the alternate forms totally throw off others), and... Bowser. He's probably my worst outta those three, but I still love his power and can usually pull out a win.

<3 these games.

I've probably put about 1000+ hours (srsly) into the original Smash Bros... so that one gets my vote. Plus, my lack of a Gamecube and Wii means that I've only played Melee and Brawl a handful of times.

Brawl was easily the best game in terms of a game standard. No clones, improved fighting mechanics, no over-powered pokeballs, etc.

BUT

I played Melee a lot more, maybe because I was younger, maybe because I liked it more. I dunno.

I only cared for the first one. The second and third were too floaty and slow. First one also had some good balance, and Link would own with his down+A air move. >.>

You only hate that move because I owned your face with it in real life.
