Now that I think about it there was another fan-made Sonic game my little brother found a video of on YouTube.

It was........interesting..........

So the idea is that Sonic gets fatter the more he runs, and he basically becomes useless while he's fat?

It's a weird idea, but certainly very creative. It looks like it would definitely be more challenging.
