why E3 was a bust...

For all those action games like Mario, Mega Man, Zelda, God of War, and stuff.

One can always hope.

Personally, I think the project is like Duke Nukem. I still need to play Other M.

Still, I don't consider it a bust. There are loads of solid games demo'd and shown off. Plus, I'm pretty excited over the Wii U. Hoping it's sub $400 in its price range so I can actually afford it.

I agree. It was very sad that they didn't display a new Metroid game.

Sadly, if Nintendo's past tells us anything, I think that after the disappointment that was Other M, we won't see a Metroid game for a long time. I'm basing this off of the Star Fox series, by the way.

Well, Retro Studios, (The guys who made the Metroid Prime games)
wanted to make another Metroid game sooner or later.

I don't know about a new 2D metroid game though.

Well, I wasn't particularly fond of this E3 either, but I wouldn't call it a bust.

Far Cry 3 (I think that's how it's spelled) looked awesome

Lego City took me by surprise

I'm super excited for the new Scribblenauts

Zombi U, I needn't say more.

There's plenty of other stuff I could list (ACIII comes to mind), but I really don't have the time.

There is also an 3DS conference coming up.
(Come on... release Fire Emblem to the US...)

I love the Pikmin games, and news about a third one is awesome.
Though I knew about it like a month after I learned the Wii U's name.

And well,
I need to play the second game first. XD

I've thrown in the towel with Nintendo. The PS3 and PC pastures looked much greener (and by greener, I meant higher in detail, deeper, and more entertaining). I used to love my Wii, but it let me down with poor motion controls, ugly visuals, and lack of support for the games I dearly wanted to play.

Now I'm on PlayStation and LOVING IT.

A few people have, but the majority was bashing it for making Samus seem like she was a weak little girl. Also, they completely ignored all the greatness that was the Metroid Prime series.

Not to mention the somewhat low sales.

I haven't played the game much yet, but the first few cut-scenes really ruined the game for me. I always imaged Samus to be a much stronger person than the way she was portrayed in Other M.

Ah, I can see how that can hurt the series a lot.
I also heard Samus has a panic attack when she sees Ridley in Other M.
(Which makes no since since she has fought him several times already. -.- )

Well, Retro Studios does want to make another Metroid game,
maybe they can somehow fix the damage done by Team Ninja.

I tried the first bit of Other M. I didn't like the shooter mechanics very much. Then again, I'm not very familiar with the tale of Samus and such.

Exploring is the best part of the Metroid series. Beautiful environments and learning about the interesting creatures that plague the planet you're on is what drew me towards loving the Metroid series.

I suggest you play Metroid Prime and the (in my opinion) slightly superior Super Metroid. Excellent games.
