Re: Behold, the body of Adonis and the brain of a squirrel.

I suppose that makes some sense. I was able to come up with a couple really interesting (IMO, obviously) grooves using some drum kit and a really powerful bass synth. The trouble I have now is I want to be able to add to it, but I'm so fuzzy on the "mechanics" of music that I don't know where to beg...

Re: Ask a Question, Get Deep!

Vlogs? I don't watch a ton of them, but there's a few I do really like. Tom Scott and his sometimes-camera-person Matt Gray have a really entertaining vlog channel called Matt and Tom that I like. I also really like the vlogbrothers channel, even if I don't watch it as much as I used to. Are...are ...

So long as the Ninjas are cool, yes.

Re: Behold, the body of Adonis and the brain of a squirrel.

So I've been plinking around with making music on a computer (I bought a MIDI controller and it came with Ableton Live, which I am using). I am woefully deficient in "understanding" music (other than the intuition I have with "this sounds good" vs "this sounds rubbish"). I don't suppose you have any...

Re: Ask a Question, Get Deep!

Snow cream is copious amounts of harvested snow mixed with evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla, and a little salt. It's basically an ice cream slushy made with snow in lieu of processed ice, which gives it a fantastic texture. I've been eating it since I was like...able to eat food. I can't believe how...

Re: Behold, the body of Adonis and the brain of a squirrel.

I'm glad you like it. It's a really nice song. Here's the latest song Orbital released, have a listen.

Re: Ask a Question, Get Deep!

No, I haven't. Looked kind of interesting, but I just don't have much time to watch TV these days.

Re: Ask a Question, Get Deep!

Oh yes, I’ve heard plenty about it. Never actually seen it, since cars don’t really interest me on that kind of level.

Re: Ask a Question, Get Deep!

Unless it is actually impossible (like being on an airplane), I generally try to position myself differently. Because that just isn't tenable long-term. XD

Re: Ask a Question, Get Deep!

Snow cream? Never actually had it. Or heard of it. Do enlighten me. XD Doing a Bible study on an over-studied, over-analyzed, over-preached section of the Bible? Maybe it’s just me, but unless that section is Ecclesiastes (or Proverbs, maybe), I generally prefer to read the lesser-studied sections....

Re: Behold, the body of Adonis and the brain of a squirrel.

I guess I can see that, but I like it a lot anyway. >_>

Here’s another Orbital track, from the same studio session as the last one I showed you:

Re: Ask a Question, Get Deep!

Dunno if I would go that far because there is some food I just don’t like and wouldn’t accept even if it were free, but generally yes, free food is a great option.

Re: Ask a Question, Get Deep!

Any pet peeves? Too many, my friend, too many. Not using a turn signal while driving. (!!!!) Not being in th correct lane ahead of time and cutting across all the lanes of traffic. People using their phones while driving. Managers who will not listen to feedback. Software engineering, like, general...

Re: Ask a Question, Get Deep!

That’s definitely pretty bad, but the roads in Oregon are often so poorly-painted that it doesn’t take snow to block the lines; it takes a light rain to make the road just a little bit reflective and suddenly you have no idea where in the lanes you are. Fun times.

Re: Ask a Question, Get Deep!

I just like inspiring people to be hungry. Secrets are good? Or bad? Secrets are neither inherently good nor bad. To quote a character from Star Trek Discovery: Universal Law is for lackeys. Context is for kings. What the secret is, and why it is being kept secret are how you determine whether or n...
