Re: any good games that I don't have ?

If you like turn-based RPGs, you may want to check out Spiderweb Software 's collection of games. The Avernum series is where they began (actually, Exile, but Avernum is the sequel / remakes), and the newest version of the first Avernum game is pretty good. In addition, the folks at the Humble Bundl...

Re: Recommendations, please!

Thanks for the suggestions! Certainly some new ideas here to us (and some we've rejected - we're not into zombies or horror, so "Walking Dead" likely won't make our list. Sorry!).

Any other ideas would be appreciated as well, but we've got a good starting point, at least! :)

Also, if there's one other thing I've noticed about the writing process, it's that story material can be a fiend to find. Now this is no new practice, but I don't think this aspect has been touched upon. Why not parallel the Bible with your story? Like the story of David for instance - you've got a...

It's easy to be an artist! Anyone can do it! To become a successful artist is the real challenge! Pray for guidance and wisdom and strive to work - and practice - hard! Remember that you will need to sacrifice some things - such as playing games or hanging with friends - in order to practice your cr...

Re: Considering Baptism

It's certainly a big decision to make. I was skeptical about it as well... until God told me in no uncertain terms that I needed to do it. And I didn't want to tell God "no." Just pray to Heavenly Father, and you'll get the guidance you'll need to make your decision. I'll add you to my prayers as we...

My wife and I just finished re-watching all the episodes of Firefly last night. She is very sad that the series is over and is hoping that Netflix will be able to revive the series, Nathan Fillion is able to purchase the rights... whatever, just as long as it can happen again. But we're trying...

Re: Go ask the lizard-guy something....

What's the novel about and what is it called? I might buy it for the sake of "hey why not". :D This novel (like the others that I've actually finished) was done a couple of years ago as part of the annual "National Novel Writing Month" event. (There's a thread around here about it somewhere, if you...

Re: Metroid for Wii

At least it seems that Rare learned from some of the mistakes they made from the second Metroid Prime game and addressed them in the third one (at least that's what I've heard...). Retro Studios, not Rare. Currently, Rare is off making Wii Sports 3 for Microsoft. :| Whoops, my bad. Thanks for point...

Re: god in video games

Not to be nitpicky, but what does this have to do with depictions of God in video games? Seems a little bit sidetracked... Just out of curiosity, can anyone think of a video game (outside of those games that are specifically classified as Christian) that depicts the Christian God - or at leas...

Re: Metroid for Wii

The Grapple Guardian is pretty great too but really annoying to get to. One of the most confusing backtracking parts in the entire game. The Grapple Guardian gave me mixed feelings. At first, he was a real fun boss to tackle (and I loved how you got an initial look at him while rolling around under...

do you enjoy butter. If you're referring to a cooking ingredient, sure, why not? I greatly prefer it over margarine. If this in reference to uses other than cooking... then I'm afraid I can't answer that question. I don't really want to.... Good luck getting your novel out! Thank you! I've had a ni...

In regards to this specific example, I wouldn't worry about it. The world of Pokemon is clearly different from our world, so I would regard any deific aspects of Pokemon to be about as relevant to real-world faiths as those in the elder Scrolls game or the Greyhawk D&D campaign setting. Polytheism s...

Re: Metroid for Wii

I'm in the middle of playing Metroid Prime 2. I really don't like the dark world mechanic because the constantly draining health discourages exploration, which is very wrong for a Metroid game. I do think the puzzles and bosses are improved over the first game, though. I just beat Boost Guardian . ...

Now that is kind of cool. :)

Did something similar happen in Second Life? Maybe that could be a trend in these types of online sandbox-style games.
