Christians, consumption of alcohol, and and what the Bible has to say on the topic

Note: The original version of this post contained an error concerning Mormon positions on caffeine. There are Mormon beliefs advising against coffee and tea consumption, but not caffeine in general, this latter topic tends to vary in some Mormon circles. I would like to thank Sstavix for the correct...

Re: Religions I Personally Cannot Believe In and Why (And Why I Do Believe In Christ)

In my reply to both of the obviously offended gentlemen in this thread, I would like to apologize, I was clearly in gross underestimation how much I'd offend certain people. That said, I refuse to recant a single word. I'd like to add yes, I have checked out the Book of Mormon, albeit it was a very ...

Re: Religions I Personally Cannot Believe In and Why (And Why I Do Believe In Christ)

Yeah, I'm disappointed you decided to target another Christian faith with your initial post as well. I certainly could find logical fallacies with many other Christian faiths as well, but I don't do that. Why not? Because regardless of our different denominations, we're all brothers and sisters in ...

Re: Religions I Personally Cannot Believe In and Why (And Why I Do Believe In Christ)

It's not obvious to me that there's value in writing a post purely to poke a stick at people for not sharing your views. Is that meant to open up a debate, or just take shots? This is a post I wrote concerning my personal experiences with faith. I grew up in a Christian home, but there was a time I...

Have an update, the prayers have helped, my sister and her family are climbing out of the pit as the employment issues have been cleared up from last I heard.

Marriage And Why Christians Should Consider It Serious Business

Original here: https://gethn7.blogspot.com/2019/07/marriage-and-why-christians-should.html Note: I'm single, but I still highly respect the concept of commitment and marriage as an honorable institution, especially as God intended it to be. I also would like to dedicate this post specifically to Jas...

Religions I Personally Cannot Believe In and Why (And Why I Do Believe In Christ)

Original here: https://gethn7.blogspot.com/2019/07/religions-i-personally-cannot-believe.html Note: I have gone on record I'm a non-denominational Protestant, yet I do not actively hate anyone of any faith or no faith, but I wanted to explain why I cannot buy into the tenets of several belief system...

Need some prayer for my family

My sister is recently going through some dire circumstances financially, and while I and other family have contributed to alleviate the issue, her husband is having trouble getting back to work due to medical reasons, and since they have children to worry about, any prayers for their getting this tr...

Re: Is "Theo" as a name blasphemous?

Okay, I want to ask a question some may see as silly, but I searched and don't really see anything about this on the web. I had a nephew born two days ago-- happy day!-- but his parents (one of whom is an atheist, the other I would describe as either pagan or heretical Christian, depending upon how...

Re: "Pride Month" and the Rainbow

I think the more basic flaw in the whole "Pride Month" is more rudimentary. They want to assign pride to an act that no one who knows God should be proud of, and the fact they have to set aside a month specifically to try and assign dignity to celebrating homosexuality and licentious sex in general ...

Re: Why Most Christians Miss The Point of God's Admonition Against Using Magic

I agree with your admonitions, and your intent. We should not be messing with the occult, demons, or anything else, for many of the reasons listed. However, I do not agree that in every case demons do not grant a form of power, or exercise it themselves, to humans when they do their evil works. Whe...

Why Most Christians Miss The Point of God's Admonition Against Using Magic

https://gethn7.blogspot.com/2019/06/why-most-christians-miss-point-of-gods.html If there is one fallacy many Christians have, albeit it often comes from the most well meaning motives, it's the belief that trying to influence the world using magic and the occult, contrary to the instructions of God, ...

Re: Final Fantasy's terrible truth?

I didn't realize how the translation affected BOF2. Is it worth getting a better translated port to see that? A better translation does make the game much more understandable, and it's made much more obvious that the Church of Eva is riddled with evil while preaching otherwise. The original transla...
