Re: Evolution?

But short of the Big Guy coming down, raising His hand and saying "I did it," what kind of evidence would it take to convince an atheist that there is some merit to the theory of an intelligent creator who designed everything? So, as all scientific evidence is required, you would need to start draw...

Re: Evolution?

I leave you guys alone and this is what you do? Is there no one else to disrupt the echo chamber?

Re: Dungeons & Dragons Etiquette: A Rant

https://media.giphy.com/media/v2A81Lm2MglLa/giphy.gif Well said. As a general rule of thumb for players, be appreciate of the DM. They put a ton of work into making a good campaign. They aren't another player sitting at the table trying kill off your party, nor are they someone you paid to entertai...

A Canticle for Leibowitz

It's a post-apocalyptic novel by Walter M. Miller, Jr. that follows the rebuilding of civilization in 600 year intervals and particularly touches on the relationship of the Church and Society over this time, clearly paralleling the cultural relationship between the church and society over our own hi...

Re: Dawn of War III Announced

If I have a group of friends I could play with semi-regularly, I would strongly consider it. I love the lore just more and more. Recently played Space Hulk Death Angel , and man. That was great. I've never tried any of the collectible card games that have come out lately. If you say that one's pret...

Re: SNL attacks Christianity

Maybe they are struggling between their conscience and scripture. Painting people as just trying to justify their behavior isn't doing justice, to, say, all the people who do not have same sex attraction, but believe that homosexuality is fine.

Re: Sawn of War III Announced

Man, so many interesting Warhammer and 40K titles are coming out. Picked up Verminitide and Battlefleet Gothic: Armada recently, and now this, Total War: Warhammer, Dawn of War III, and Space Hulk Deathwing to get? At this rate, I might as well just get the miniatures for how much I'll have to pay.

Re: SNL attacks Christianity

Divisive I'll grant you, but sinister? No. Sinistar propaganda? yes. http://i.imgur.com/V9HBX.gif Perhaps, sinister was an overspeak, as it implies a more malicious intent. When I see an entire category of self-described Christians claiming that "their" Jesus would be totally okay with some of the ...

Re: SNL attacks Christianity

Yes it certainly is, which is my point re: SNL. Not quite. Left is not anti-christian by any means. But they are more prone to poke fun at more further right positions, which is what we're seeing. I'm going to assume you have a better handle on what that word means than that. For anyone who doesn't...

Re: SNL attacks Christianity

Everything seems left-leaning on the right. Actually, I would put them more left-leaning. So we agree? Partially. Just because it's left-leaning doesn't mean it's only for the left. Hollywood in general is left leaning, but it's really marketed for everyone. So you admit it's garbage. That isn't wh...

Re: SNL attacks Christianity

I don't mean the Cursed Earth- I mean, the Midwest. I'm speaking more politically middle. Gotcha. I have my doubts about SNL being anything but left-leaning.[/quote]Everything seems left-leaning on the right. Actually, I would put them more left-leaning. It's a Christian propaganda movie. So you ad...

Re: SNL attacks Christianity

Think SNL is for Middle America, do ya? Most TV programming is meant to appeal to the markets wher ethe most people are. That means cities. Big cities. You're suggesting that SNL gives a wet fart what the people in scattered towns around the Midwest think when they're directing their programming an...

Re: SNL attacks Christianity

This is not pointed at Christianity in general, but the kind that likes to paint itself as a cringing minority. So they painted that very farcical world. You think the average SNL viewer is going to get that distinction? In any case, I'm not convinced at all that their intent was to lampoon a small...
