Re: The dangers of renouncing your faith

Sounds like genocide is morally acceptable to you sometimes.

Eh, short answer is “not great but surviving”, but thanks for asking. :)

Re: Since it came up recently...

They’ll do it when it’s politically convenient. Heck, the only reason they’re as accepting as they are of LDS these days is because of the time Mitt Romney ran against Obama. Christians will support anyone for politics.

Re: The dangers of renouncing your faith

The Facebook post is garbo.

He’s so offended that people dare speak out when they leave Christianity. If it were an atheist, muslim, or ajy Joe off the street talking about accepting Christianity I don’t think he’d be complaining.

Re: The dangers of renouncing your faith

Also, people need to accept that you're not going to agree with God on everything, ultimately. You are not God, God is God Truth. Well said. This is one of the things I think that hold many people back from a deeper understanding of God. We want to be the ultimate authority, but we simply aren't. I...

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

Did you ever post a review for this game? I’m interested in reading it. My thoughts: definitely not for the kiddies. I didn’t care much for being forced to be a bad man early on myself. In the end though, I think it worked out for the story they wanted to tell. One of the most interesting things I’v...

Re: Can a person be both a Christian and Pro-choice?

Of course. I know more than a few Christians who are pro-choice. Whether or not they fit in with your particular brand of Christianity might be up for debate. But there are thousands of different brands, from LGBT affirming liberal brands to the folks who think it’s a sin for women to wear blue jean...

Re: So I'm playing Witcher 3...

Start with Hearts of Stone. The level requirement for both expansions is high enough that you'll want to hang on to your post game save from the main campaign (although there is an option to start a new game with a barebones version of Geralt at a high level if you don't have your save). Hearts of S...

Re: So I'm playing Witcher 3...

Did you play the expansions? They are well worth playing if you enjoyed the main campaign. Hearts of Stone had a really good story (better than the main story IMO) and Blood and Wine (I might be messing up the titles) added a lot of cool stuff and a huge new area, and capped off Geralt’s story nicel...

Re: Skyrim

The great thing about Skyrim is that you can play it however you want to. If you don't want to steal or kill the innocent, you don't have to do it (and if you want to, you can destroy the assassins guild). If you don't want your character to do magic, you can make a physical and/or stealth based cha...

Why are vaccines a conservative issue? There are plenty of far lefties out there who are anti-vaxxers.

Re: Yep, they're making Sulu gay.

I agree with George Takei. I have zero problems with gay characters in anything, but this was a little on the nose. "HEY GUISE, YOU KNOW HOW THE ACTOR WHO PLAYED SULU IS GAY? WELL, LET'S MAKE SULU GAY IN THE MOVIE! IT'LL BE AN EASY WAY TO THROW THEM GAYS A BONE!" It feels like pandering, and I agree...

Re: SNL attacks Christianity

I think I'd feel a little more sympathetic if the movie(s) they were ripping on weren't some of the worst attacks on atheists out there. I remember a thread in the movies section in which Arch was critical of the first God's Not Dead because he felt the Atheist perspective wasn't fairly represented...
